Dara Tarras, the actor best known for playing Daenerys Targaryen in the HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones, has died at the age of 56.
He was best known to fans as the voice of Khal Drogo in the TV series, but he also voiced other characters in the shows hit TV series including Khal Droga, a dragon.
He died peacefully at his home in Northern Ireland.

Tarrasa is survived by his wife, Linda, and daughter, Jennifer.
The actor was also a vocal advocate of gay rights, with his first role portraying a gay character in The Sopranos, a role he reprised in Game of Throne.
“It is a tragic day to hear of the passing of Dara, who will be missed by so many of us,” Game of Thrones creator David Benioff said in a statement.
