The women and men who work at CNN were discussing the network’s “newscast lineups” as part of a panel discussion at an event in Los Angeles on Monday, CNN reported.
The women and their male colleagues in the audience laughed, some said they would never have expected to see the women in the room, CNN’s Adam Hodge reported.
CNN has been grappling with allegations of sexual harassment and assault at the network and the news organization is now facing its own sexual misconduct scandal.
In a segment, host Erin Burnett said she was having sex with one of the women and then had to pull out of the interview because of the sexual tension.
She said she’s never had sex with a male colleague before, but she was a little nervous because the conversation had been going on for so long.
She told the audience that she was not surprised at the reaction.
She also told the story of an encounter she had with a man she met in a bar.
He had no recollection of the encounter, but later said she didn’t remember it.
“I remember him saying, ‘I don’t want to hear from you,'” Burnett told the crowd.
“I was like, ‘Okay, let me go.'”
In the interview, she also said she feels “very, very lucky” that she has been able to stay with the network.
She has said she wanted to work at the news outlet because she was told it was the only outlet where women could be a part of the newsroom.
“This was the first time in a long time that we had women,” she said.
“And I think we are doing well.”
In an interview with CNN’s Erin Burnett, CNN host Erin Ann Burnett said there are still women in CNN.
The network’s newscast is still made up of men.
“The fact that I have a female colleague at CNN speaks volumes about the power of our company, the strength of our organization,” she told CNN’s Alisyn Camerota. (CNN)
