St. Lucie County man sentenced to 5 years for raping girl in hotel room

An attorney for a St. Louis man who raped a girl in a hotel room while she was unconscious says the man will serve five years in prison.

St. Lucies County District Attorney Steve Cooley said Thursday that Robert F. Dickson Jr., 35, of St. Charles, pleaded guilty to third-degree rape of a minor.

He will serve 10 years in a state prison and three years of supervised release, according to a news release.

Dickson will also be required to register as a sex offender.

His sentencing is scheduled for March 20.

According to the release, the victim was on her way to a friend’s home in August 2013 when she said she was raped by Dickson.

The girl reported the attack to police.

The girl has not been named.
